Hedgehogs

Some people have hedgehogs as pets. Hedgehogs are not your regular pets. A hedgehog is a small spiny animal. If you are looking for a cuddly or fuzzy pet, a hedgehog may not be your suitable pet. A hedgehog can be very cute especially when it curls up in a ball in your hand. The spikes on the body of a hedgehog does not hurt especially if you stroke it in the right direction and not in the opposing direction. Hedgehogs have evolved very little over the past 15 million years.  

Hedgehog pets

There are many species of hedgehogs. The hedgehog pets are often hybrids of the white bellied hedgehog or four toed hedgehog and the North African hedgehog. Nowadays, many pet stores have hedgehogs for sale. However, make sure that your state allows hedgehogs as pets. Some states do not allow you to own hedgehogs as pets. Hedgehogs are considerably more difficult to care for as pets than dogs, cats and most other domestic animals. So, before getting a hedgehog, make sure you know how to care for a hedgehog.
