Ferrets Cage
Ferrets cages are common since most people keep their Ferrets in a cage. Some people, instead of using Ferrets cage, use very well ferret proofed room whenever the Ferrets cannot be supervised. Below are frequently asked questions about Ferrets cage.
Is Ferrets cage necessary?
There are times when a ferret's owner needs to use a Ferrets cage. Even if you plan to let your Ferrets have the run of the house all the time, you will most likely need a Ferrets cage at first when training your ferret. A Ferrets cage is also handy for transporting your Ferrets and for temporary use.
How large should a Ferrets cage be?
If you plan to keep your ferret in a Ferrets cage all day or much of the day, the Ferrets cage should be at least 2x3 feet and 2 feet high for up to two Ferrets.
Can I use an aquarium tank for a Ferrets cage?
No. You should not use an aquarium tank as a substitute for a Ferrets cage. Why? Because an aquarium tank does not have enough ventilation for your Ferrets.
Can I keep my Ferrets in the Ferrets cage at all times?
Ferrets needs several hours of free playtime everyday. It is very unwise to keep Ferrets caged up all day.
What should be in a Ferrets cage?
A Ferrets cage will need the basics such as:
-
food,
-
water,
-
litter pan
-
old sweat shirt
-
sleep sacks for bedding
The wired floor of the Ferrets cage should be covered with something such as sticky tiles. Ferrets should not be able to walk on the wire or the wire will damange their feet and the ferets scoot after using the toilet.
How do Ferrets react to wood chips, cedar or pine?
Do not use cedar, pine or wood chips in the Ferrets cage because they produce oils and dust that irritate the skin and lungs and can cause respiratory problems in your Ferrets.
Ferrets
Ferrets are also great pets. However, a ferret is harder to keep as a pet than a cat or a dog. Before you buy ferrets as pets, be familiar with what ferrets are, how to take care of a ferret, ferret care and what ferret supplies you will need. Some pet stores have ferrets for sale and baby ferrets for sale. Alternatively, you can adopt a ferret. Baby ferrets are extremely cute.
